OPI My Private Jet

Yes, it's that one. Not the one with the brownish glitter. Not even the one with the blueish glitter. The original, pre-three-free hard-to-find holographic My Private Jet. I bought this ages ago and never got around to trying it. Now that it's become something of a notorious desire of a lot of lacquer heads, I figured I should give it a shot. Brown base (it's not black; I've see a lot of people say it's black, it's not I tell you) with a gorgeous linear holographic siren song in a bottle.

In the bottle.

I'll come right out and say it. I don't think I like it. It's not that I don't enjoy the color sitting on my nails right now. It's definitely got its own charm. I just feel let down when it doesn't translate from the bottle to the nail, and this one doesn't.

So let's just go ahead and show the pics, get it over and done with.

You are mostly going to be walking around with the first pic on your nails. It's that dull. I've already gone through my first day as of posting this and not once did I see any sort of holographic wink. I occasionally got a flash of red, I think I even got blue once but I think I was just being hopeful. It stays a dark brown with what looks like fine silver glitter.

And you know what? That's okay. If you're looking for something subtle with a bit of a surprise up close, this is your darling. That was not the polish I was looking for.

Lest you think I may have purchased the wrong version of it:

Look how beautiful that bottle is. Disappointed, I am. If you're not going to spend the day in the sun or around constant flash bulbs, save your money and buy a different version. You'll get the same result.

  1. Aww, well that's disappointing. It's a nice color if you don't know what it looks like in the bottle...then you just end up wondering what the heck happened.
